Welcome back to our monthly Virtual/Augmented Reality technologies event! As always we have a special guest speaker presentation with demos expected on the night. Hope you can make it!

PARKING: Free (get there early to secure a seat)

TIME: 6:00 – 8:00 PM, 29th of August 2017

Tim Lucas (Immersive Robotics) – The Future is Wireless
Immersive Robotics (IMR) is pursuing the development of a data compression standard for digital content. This includes both a hardware and software solution for headsets such as the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and mobile standalone headsets. The result; the ability for tethered VR headsets (which require cables to connect to a computer) to become wireless! No more getting tangled in cables! As co-founder of IMR, Tim will be presenting on where their technology is at right now, and what lays ahead for wireless VR.

“Basically I see the internet becoming interactive and Mixed Reality being the appropriate computing interface. At the moment it is perfectly acceptable to buffer a web page or video when browsing. In the near future IMR’s algorithms can be used for real-time streaming between networked devices, for a real-time critical internet of ‘VR, MR, AR, things’.” ~ Tim Lucas

DEMOS: We will have a number of VR/AR headsets available for demonstrations on the night. If you have any recomendations on specific experiences or would like to demo something you have been working on we would be happy to accomidate you.
