Looks like 2019 is going to be the year of AI. This technology continues to advance by leaps and bounds, and that is why we bring these 5 predictions about Artificial Intelligence.

After reviewing some predictions about technology for 2019, we must make a stop along the way, and think of one of the indisputable protagonists of this year. We’re talking about the Artificial Intelligence, which has taken over the great covers of technology magazines and has been key to new technological advances.

AI is more integrated into society than you think, and is that, this year we have witnessed releases such as Movistar Home, which includes the virtual assistant Aura, or new features such as facial recognition of banks in China. In addition, connected cars, the Industry 4.0, the manufacture of medicines or even the creation of music also have Artificial Intelligence as the protagonist.

What will this technology hold for us in the future? It is uncertain, but what we do know is that it will create new jobs and that in the coming months there will be amazing progress. In the digital age AI is going to be a key element and, although we do not have a crystal ball to see the future, we bring you some of the predictions about Artificial Intelligence that experts make:

1. AI will be an international policy issue

The struggle to be the leading continent or country in Artificial Intelligence is already being waged. This technology is still taking its first steps, and becoming an AI powerhouse can revolutionize a country. In addition, this technology can make a nation self-sufficient in research and development, or even used for military activities.

China seems to have understood this faster than anyone. Currently, Asia accounts for 48% of global investment in Artificial Intelligence, while the United States reaches 38%, and Europe is relegated with 13%.

2. Social concern about ‘ Transparent AI’

There is a certain fear about how an Artificial Intelligence works, and that is, humans do not find it too funny that a machine is smarter than us and can learn on its own. However, we must not be afraid.

According to experts and their predictions about Artificial Intelligence, in 2019 we will probably see a greater emphasis on measures designed to increase technology transparencywhich currently seems to be always under ethical judgment.

3. Automation applied to all sectors

Little by little, it looks like industries start using AI to revolutionize their businesses and digitally transform. According to Forbes ‘ predictions about Artificial Intelligence, after companies have spent the last few years tidying up their data and identifying areas where this technology can be a success, it seems that they are already ready to implement them in their processes and businesses.

4. AI will create many jobs

Gartner predicts that by the end of 2019, Artificial Intelligence will have created more jobs than it will have destroyed. While it is will lose 1.8 million jobs due to automation, it is will create 2.3 million. In particular, according to the Gartner report, they will focus on sectors such as education, health and the public sector.

5. Evolution and settlement of virtual assistants

Siri, Aura, Alexa or the Google assistant will evolve in the coming months to become an indispensable element for society. Virtual assistants will be the visible face of how AI has been getting into our lives and improving the user experience. A perfect example of this is Movistar Home, the device that integrates Aura and that will revolutionize the way of communicating in homes.
