According to a study by the North American company Gartner, the growth of business value of AI will be exponential in the next five years. In 2018 it will reach a total of 959 million euros, 70% more than last year; and in 2022 it will continue to increase to 3.21 billion euros.

Today, after the technological boom that we have lived, no one would be surprised if in 30 years we were able to fall in love with the operating system of our smart home, as in the movie Her.
We are already seeing how, little by little, artificial Intelligence is introduced in our day to day. A curious example of this occurred a few days ago in the mayoral elections held in Tama, Tokyo. Apart from the usual flesh and blood candidates, there was Michihito Matsuda, the first artificial intelligence to run for election. Despite not being human, he was the third most voted candidate, with a total of 4,013 votes.
Undoubtedly, AI is already a reality in many areas, and companies are increasingly focusing on it. This has been predicted in a study the Gartner company, responsible for conducting business analysis. In this study the US firm estimates that by 2022 the business value growth of AI will reach a total of 3.21 trillion euros. Much more than the 959 million euros estimated for 2018 –70% more than in 2017.
Apart from these data, Gartner also explains in a statement that this increase that AI will live will be like that of the rest of emerging technologies: in the first years it will occur vertiginously and, little by little, it will slow down. The “S-shaped ” growth pattern.
What will be the main sources of business value?
The American company points out that there will be three sources of value, mainly. The first will relate to improve customer experience by companies, with interactive tools such as virtual agents. The second will be the new revenue from the sale of products and services – both new and current. And the third will be based on the cost reduction when making those products.
At the moment no one knows if in a few years fiction will become reality and we can see robots with feelings as human as love or sadness. What is clear is that Artificial Intelligence will be introduced more and more in our lives and, in some way, will not stop improving it.
