An event in which the company last year introduced games such as Firewall Zero Hour and WipEout Omega Collection.
Shawn Layden, by Sony Worldwide Studios, commented in the last PlayStation Blogcast that this year Sony will not hold its event in December PlayStation Experience (PSX), an appointment they have been making every year since 2014. As Layden explains, the main reason is because they will not have enough news for the event, so they have chosen not to carry it out.
“The reasons behind it really are that we are making a lot of progress in creating our games,” says Layden. “Now that we have Spider-Man for sale, we’re looking forward to 2019 with games like Dreams and Days Gone, but we wouldn’t have enough to bring all the people together somewhere in America. We do not want to set too high expectations and then fail to meet them. It was a tough decision, but we decided that we won’t have PlayStation Experience this year.”
Since the arrival of PSVR on the market, the PSX always brought us the announcement of a virtual reality game, in fact, last year there were several titles that were presented in this annual event, including two of the big hits of 2018: the tactical shooter Firewall Zero Hour, and the adaptation of the classic WipEout. It is possible that the company will save the news for other events, such as the Paris Games Week that will take place at the end of the month (from 26 to 30 October). The Parisian event also brought us in 2017 the presentation of titles such as Blood and Truth and Eden Tomorrow.
