An apple a day keeps the doctor from the door, says an old saying. In this context, however, the truth may be that even an Apple may need to be seen by a doctor once in a while. The well-known it brand Apple itself predicts that an iPhone and a MacBook will have to be replaced after three and four years respectively. Before it comes to that, however, there are many things you can do yourself to extend the life of your Apple products:
Let a professional about repairing on your products.
Get a professional Apple repairman to repair your products. A cheaper and non-professional repairman often does more harm than good to your product in the long term, since such a solution will cost you your product’s warranty. So do yourself and your products a favor in spending the extra money on professional repair-they earn themselves back in the long run!
Use only original spare parts and the best products.
When Apple was accused of making products with a given lifespan, this was in connection with the fact that customers had installed unoriginal home buttons on their iPhones, which after a short while were completely useless. Therefore, let this example be a loving reminder to always use original spare parts for your Apple products.
The quality of the products you use with your Apple product must also be of top quality. Apple has a lot of products, but not all, and it often looks really clumsy if you need to have strung a big, black brick with three wires on your neat MacBook. Instead, spend a little more on the cool solutions-e.g. this wireless hdmi connector, which only requires an app on your iPhone or Mac.
Make your products clean, but in moderation!
Apple recommends that you clean your products with a soft and lint-free cloth. Hold again with the use of rags, towels, paper towels and the like, as these may scratch or otherwise damage the product. It is also recommended that you do not use too much moisture for the cleaning itself – especially be careful that moisture does not penetrate openings such as for power plugs and headphones. Finally, it is important that you never use/spray cleaning agents directly on the products, as this can lead to discolorations and / or cracking.
Updates are your friend.
One last way to extend the life of your Apple products is by updating them. For the most part, Apple’s updates always pop up as time-consuming and impractical things on the to-do list. Nevertheless, updates are a powerful tool in both increasing the security and longevity of your Apple products.
Save battery!
Have you experienced that the battery of your iPhone or MacBook has difficulty holding the battery? To face this problem, Apple recommends that you do not expose the batteries to temperatures above 30 degrees. Next, it is a good idea to turn off the large energy drainers, such as e.g. notifications, and always have the ’energy-saver’ function turned on.
