SpaceX, the aerospace manufacturer and space transport company founded by billionaire Elon Musk, wants to colonize Mars, although the company’s next big step is to get tourists to the moon.

Musk tweeted that the company will live stream the upcoming lunar mission in “high-definition VR,” which he says will be broadcast almost in real time, considering the time it takes for the signal to travel to Earth.

Moon mission will be livestreamed in high def VR, so it’ll feel like you’re there in real-time minus a few seconds for speed of light

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) September 18, 2018

While the technology billionaire is famous for projects like Neuralink, the company that works on an implantable brain-computer interface, Musk revealed in an interview with podcaster and comedian Joe Rogan that the mission to the Moon will cost $ 5 billion, and is scheduled for 2023. Musk says video transmission from the moon to Earth will be managed by Starlink, a constellation of satellites currently under development by SpaceX, which will be used to service both Earth and extraterrestrial communications. Musk expects the Moon’s Starlink cluster to be active during launch, which will ensure full signal coverage.

Yusaku Maezawa, a Japanese fashion mogul, is the first passenger scheduled to make the lunar journey on the company’s Big Falcon Rocket, which will presumably carry the VR video capture device.
