Here we have seen long and exhausting battles, but we must recognize that the computers are left as winners. Does the same then apply to poker, where it is claimed that there is more than pure mathematics behind how to be played? How much does the mental mean and how much do the cards mean in isolation? Carnegie Mellon University last week launched a major experiment in which they have put four professional poker players to compete with the supercomputer Claudio. The poker variant is Heads-up No-Limit Texas Hold’em, which is one of the most popular and complex poker variants and often ends up in an “all in”. The supercomputer goes by the name of Claudio, and it is said that it plays very conservatively, and the developers believe that it can cope with the competition. The competition is being fought continuously in the coming time, where the developers behind the computer will try to prove that they have developed a computer that can beat the best poker players. It will be exciting to see how it will go and a little further down in the article we take a closer look at the preliminary position.
A great experiment when Man meets the supercomputer
The great experiment, of course, takes place in the United States, more specifically in Pittsburgh. 4 selected poker players are currently fighting a so-called supercomputer named Claudio. Kasparov withdrew victorious from the first meeting, while it caused a great stir when Kasparov a year later got beat by Deep Blue.

In fact, there have also been several researchers who have previously tried to develop poker computers to beat the world’s best poker players. Now let’s see if Claudio can do the Deep Blue art after. The computer is designed to constantly adjust and evolve, but can it do it fast enough? That is the question that we shall soon have to answer.
The 4 poker players and the preliminary standings
The 4 poker players are not just anyone. For example, we find Doug ‘WCGRider’ Polk, who can write WSOP winner on the CV, and who must be considered a regular highstakeshaj. Polk sees it as an important challenge in which humanity must prove that we are still smarter than the computers that can be developed. The game of chess differs from the game of poker, and Polk believes that we are still at a stage where computers will not be able to take into account the mental elements of the game. Should it go wrong, and should the supercomputer pull out victorious from the competition, Polk hopes that he will have the opportunity to have some more challenges against the computer.
In addition, the supercomputer will face poker players Dong ‘DongerKim’ Kim, Jason Les and Bjorn Li.
So far, the four poker players are doing the best, and continuing the same way, they get the shovel under Claudio.
