The new version of the Epic Games engine allows you to capture in mixed reality, without external applications, any title of Unreal Engine 4.
Release Unreal Engine 4.20, which is already available, enter the natively official support for mixed reality capturethat is, the mixing of the real image of the player with the virtual world, a function that helps traditional screen viewers get a better idea of what is happening.

Mixed Reality Capture is in early access and has three components: video input, calibration and in-game composition. In order to capture the player’s image, it is necessary to use a webcam or a compatible HDMI capture device (although others not included in the list may work), which takes care of capturing the player’s image with a green background. In turn, the capture supports the use of Vive Trackers to match the position of the real camera with that of the virtual one to have the freedom to move it dynamically. The entire configuration and calibration process is carried out with an independent tool, so once adjusted we can use it with any title of Unreal Engine 4.

The update also incorporates new versions of SDKs from multiple virtual and augmented reality platforms, such as SteamVR (1.39), Oculus (1.25), ARKit (2.0), ARCore (1.2) and Magic Leap (Lumin 0.12.0).
