The University Center for Technology and Digital Art, U-tad, presents the second edition of this Virtual Reality, an event whose objective is to show the more social and human side of virtual reality. To this end, experts and professionals from various sectors will share their knowledge about the technology that makes it possible and its uses. The event will be held on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 30 at the Google Campus auditorium in Madrid.
“Virtual reality is already present in aspects that we could not imagine. It is exciting to think about how VR can help us heal health-related problems, generate empathy with those who are suffering, as well as bring people closer together. All that is what Isrealityvirtual aims to show, because virtual reality, we can say, that already invades everything, ” says Laura Raya, virtual reality expert and director of postgraduate at U-tad.
How can VR be applied to sexuality?, How does RV help in the treatment of phobias? What role does virtual reality play in the emerging field of technologies applied to personal development? Can we learn about diseases through VR? These are some of the issues that will answer Angela Aznarez, the Andalusian Institute of Sexology and Psychology; Luis Miguel Samperio, founder of ConsciousnessHacking; Laura Raya, Dr. in Computer Engineering and specialty RV; Roberto Romero, CTO of Future Lighthouse; Edgar Martín-Blas, CEO of New Horizons VR; and the company Relajaelcoco.
In the experience area attendees can, for example, feel the vision of a Syrian child suffering the consequences of war (Ashes), travel to zone 0 of the nuclear disaster of Fukushima (Japan), enter a body with diabetes to learn more about this disease or tour the painting “The Garden of Delights” of El Bosco, as if it were part of it and thus discover every detail (Immerse yourself), among many other experiences through viewers such as Vive, Rift, Gear VR, Daydream, FOVE and PSVR.
