Errors on your local Windows firewall
Here’s a guide to turn your Windows firewall back on when it doesn’t want to be enabled through the Security Center in the control panel. You can see in the first picture below the error message I received when I tried to turn my firewall back on. Error message from Windows Security Center:
We’re sorry. Security Center could not turn on Windows Firewall. If you want to try to turn on firewall yourself, use Windows Firewall in control panel. On the General tab of the Windows Firewall dialog box, select turned on (recommended), and then click OK.
1. Press “Start button“and then on “Run“and write “gpedit.MSCS“in the field.
2. Press Computer configuration
3. Press Administrative Templates
4. Press Network
5. Press Connections
6. Press Windows Firewall
7. Press Default profile
8. Here you can then change all settings, with respect to your local Windows firewall. You must now click on each individual line below so that the image which appears as no. 2 below is shown. Here you have to choose “Not configured“and press “Apply” and “OK“by all of them, it fixes the error and you can re-enable your Windows firewall via the Security Center in the control panel. Under the last picture, there is a link to how it is done.
