Lenovo’s HMD could be one of the first Windows Mixed Reality to hit the market, according to Mike Abary, vice president of Lenovo USA, in an interview with Twice.

The virtual reality headsets compatible with the platform Microsoft’s Windows Mixed Reality they are preparing for their launch at the end of the year, specifically for the period between October and Black Friday, as indicated by Alex Kipman, inventor of HoloLens, in an interview with UploadVR. Now, the launch of the viewer of Lenovo, could be brought forward and come to be produced for the back to school in the United States, according to Mike Abary, vice president of Lenovo USA, told Twice. This date could mean that the Lenovo viewer would be available by the end of August or the beginning of September, which would practically be stuck to the period already commented by Microsoft.

Earlier, Microsoft announced its collaboration with the Chinese manufacturer 3Glasses to bring the S1 Blublur device to the Windows Mixed Reality platform and at that time there was talk that it would arrive for the first half of the year. Therefore, the arrival of the Lenovo viewfinder could be accompanied by that of the S1 from 3Glasses.

 

The Lenovo device has two OLED screens of 1440×1440 pixels, two cameras to achieve absolute inside-out positioning, a fastening system similar to that of PlayStation VR, a weight of 350 grams and a price that will be around between 300 and 400 euros. Microsoft has already released the Creators Update and is distributing Acer’s development kits so that in the second half of the year content will begin to be available for its virtual reality platform.
