As in the first part, the title takes place in a post-apocalyptic version of the USA. The focus is still on the fighter Aloy, who, as the leader of a troop, sets out to search for the origin of a deadly plague. However, after the events from the first part, she made herself not only friends, but also many enemies.
Some prior knowledge can not hurt for the fun of the game
If you don’t know what happened in the previous title, you might feel a little lost. Because since the story starts directly at “Horizon Zero Dawn”, a little prior knowledge of the past plot can be very helpful. As it should be, there are also a lot of new characters, to whom Hollywood actors once again lent their voices.
The already big world of the game, in which you can move completely freely according to the open-world principle, turns out to be even bigger than in the first part. The climbing mechanics were expanded, which means that the world extends even further in height. It is inhabited by a large number of hostile robot animals that are after the remaining human population.
Even if not all the novelties of the sequel were well received, critics gave “Horizon Forbidden West” almost all a positive note. If you liked the predecessor, you can also access it here. And to start with the first part, it’s probably never too late.
