The Toy War is the new free content that has arrived at The Playroom VR, expanding the experience with a tower defense genre game for four players.

The new mode of The Playroom VR, The War of the Toys, consists of a type of tower defense game in which up to four players in cooperative will have to put down all the waves of enemies that will be directed towards them. The multiplayer, as in the rest of the mini-games, is local, so the player wearing the viewer will perform tasks different from those of the players playing on TV. Having this one to handle a heavy machine gun from a fixed position to give cover to his companions.

The TV players will have to prevent the HMD player from suffering any damage, and for this they will control some particular mechs with the gamepad, having the possibility of throwing punches and a special attack that will be unique for each available character, so each player will be able to look for the style of play that he likes the most. The game begins in the heroes’ underground base located under the bedroom. When the mission starts, all the heroes get on an elevator to ascend to the surface. “We took inspiration from classic Japanese anime for this,” comments Nicolas Doucet, producer of The Playroom VR at Japan Studio. Both The Toy Wars update and the full The Playroom VR game are free for all PlayStation VR users.
