The Game Developers Conference (GDC) has published the results of its annual survey on the state of the video game industry conducted to more than 4,500 developers, revealing the preference for Vive and uncertainty in the face of PS4 Pro and Project Scorpio.

The GDC brings us its usual annual survey before the event kicks off in San Francisco from February 27 to March 3. The developers who have participated have answered a series of questions where some of them were related to virtual reality and its platforms. Many of them are looking with uncertainty at the release of the new updates of the console of Sony and Microsoft, not being clear if they are a good move for the industry, and it is that only 18% believe so.

39% of respondents claim to be working in games with support for virtual reality, and of these 24% do it for HTC Vive, 23% for Oculus Rift and 13% for PlayStation VR. In the face of which platform they will use in future developments, 40% say they plan to support HTC Vive, 37% for Oculus Rift, and 26% for PlayStation VR. As for the general interest for each of the main platforms, 45% chose HTC Vive, 30% Oculus Rift, and 29% PlayStation VR. With this data, Vive becomes the preferred platform and generates the most interest from the developers who participated.

The subject of the exclusivities in virtual reality games it was another of the questions that were asked, and that is that 11% stated that their game would be exclusive to a single platform, and of these 33% indicated that it would be for HTC Vive, 24% for Oculus Rift and 15% for PlayStation VR, which places Vive as the preferred HMD also for exclusives.

75% believe that virtual and augmented reality are a sustainable business in the long term, which is good since they are clear that they are the future. You can download the full report from the following page.
