SynergyWiz has launched a Kickstarter campaign for a new rigid fastening system for HTC Vive that distributes the weight of the viewfinder so that it rests on our forehead and, in addition, allows us to raise it to be able to see without taking off the HMD.

Ergonomics is a very important point in a commercial visor and proof of this is the new fastening system that HTC presented at CES in order to achieve a better user experience. In SynergyWiz, not happy even with this new HTC system, they have decided to launch a campaign with a new system that distributes the weight of the device in a balanced way, resting the rigid headband that incorporates on our forehead. To install the new fastening we will only have to remove the current straps and attach the visor through some front hooks, which will allow us to enjoy better ergonomics and even lift the visor to see the real world at any time, without removing the headband.

Its creators point out that putting on and taking off the helmet will be like putting on a cap, also gaining more viewing angle by bringing the screen closer to our eyes and better access for the headphone cable. The adjustment for the size of our head is made on the back with the back pad that incorporates multiple points for pivoting. The pads that it incorporates can be replaced for cleaning or replaced with others.

rEvolve will be compatible with the accessories that will turn our HMD into wireless, incorporating for this a bar at the top that will allow adding any custom adapter to it. These adapters will be offered at the user’s choice with the possibility of downloading them also for 3D printing. The campaign has already achieved its funding goal of $ 5,000, but those interested in acquiring the accessory can still purchase it for $ 85 until February 9, which concludes, with the estimated shipping date in April. A pity that the price of the official HTC system is not yet known, since we could get a very clear idea when opting for one or the other device.
