The CES in Las Vegas leaves us a new presentation related to virtual reality, it is about the high-end iSINE VR headphones from Audeze, designed for HTC, Sony and Oculus headsets.

The iSINE VR are in-ear headphones with semi-open magnetic planar transducers thanks to which they can reduce frequencies as low as 10 Hz, a real achievement in this type of devices, reaching up to 50 kHz. Its semi-open architecture prevents us from being isolated 100% from the outside, which according to Audeze reduces the possibility of disorientation and loss of balance in virtual reality experiences both standing and sitting, something that we have not experienced at any time with all types of headphones, but that they claim can especially affect new users of virtual reality devices. However, it seems unlikely that newcomer users will be willing to fork out the $399 that iSINE vrsos cost, and we see them more as a product focused on the most demanding users.

These headphones weigh about 20 grams, an impressive figure considering the difficulty involved in the miniaturization of planar transducers. In addition to these, they have special magnets called “Fluxor Magnets” that allow practically doubling the magnetic force and provide a distortion of less than 0.1% at 100 dB even at high volume, a figure that is not usually seen in in-ear headphones, which together with their 30 mm speaker make them somewhat larger than usual in this format. Those interested can already pre-purchase on the Audeze website for $399 and include cables compatible with both the Oculus Rift-specific connector and the standard 3.5mm jack that we can find on HTC Vive, PlayStation VR and other devices. Shipments will be made at the end of this month.
