Sergio Hidalgo is preparing Dreadhalls to support the new Oculus motion controllers, adding a new level of immersion to the terrifying experience.

The support of Touch it will arrive via a free update of Dreadhalls it will replace the way we interact with the world, since instead of looking at an object and pressing the button to pick it up, we will now do it directly with our hand, resulting in a much more natural gesture. Another of the changes in the gameplay is that we will now have the flashlight always in our hand, so we can move it as we see fit to illuminate the environment. The use of Touch will also allow us to take the minimap with our hand, thus avoiding that it bothers us by placing itself in the middle when we do not want it.

The locomotion system will continue the same as with the gamepad, using the analog stick of the left controller to move and the right to turn, although in the case of turns we can always make them physically if the configuration of our positioning allows us. At the moment there is no release date for the update.

For Sergio Hidalgo, the fun that motion controllers bring and the search for a higher level of immersion have been the reasons that have led him to start this adaptation. “Because having our hands in the game and being able to use them to interact increases the feeling of presence. New possibilities and interactions are also added that did not exist before, and that I hope will serve both to attract new players and for some of those who already had it to start another game again,” says Hidalgo.
