Acer has given new details about its viewers that will arrive from € 299 in the first quarter of 2017 on the occasion of the Windows 10 Creator’s Update update.
It’s only been a few weeks since Microsoft he announced the arrival of new HMDs for next year. Among the different companies that will manufacture these new scopes, there is Acer which has released some details of its future HMDs that will hit the market in the first quarter of 2017 and from 299€. These new devices will have a resolution of up to 1440×1440 per eye, resulting in 2880×1440 if we combine it. A resolution that exceeds most commercial HMDs available so far, since Oculus Rift and HTC Vive have 2160×1200, and GearVR 2560×1440.
The viewfinders will have a built-in camera for mixed reality applications and integrated sensors to achieve positional localization with up to six degrees of freedom for simple configurations and to allow users to move freely while using the device, i.e. absolute inside-out positioning. They will run on affordable laptops and PCs, and have been designed to accelerate the adoption of new and intuitive ways of interacting with the world.
Acer expands its virtual reality portfolio with these new HMDs that add to the StarVR viewer for physical locations, in addition to its catalog of equipment certified to work with virtual reality.
