One of the characteristics of virtual reality is that it can make us feel that we are in another place, and that is something that can be very useful in therapeutic applications such as Guided Meditation.

The application developed by Cubicle Ninjas allows us to enjoy an exotic vacation in one of the available scenarios. There is a demo for Windows and Mac that works on Oculus Rift and has been downloaded by more than 25,000 people. The final product will be finished by the end of the year, perhaps coinciding with the commercial launch of the first virtual reality devices.

“We’re excited to create VR experiences that make people happy and positively impact their daily lives,” said Josh Farkas, CEO of Cubicle Ninjas. “Guided Meditation VR is a powerful tool for healthcare facilities to use for the care of their patients. It is a fact that a happy patient recovers earlier, is less likely to be re-admitted and is more satisfied.”
