Frontier Developments has always boasted about the scale of the Elite: Dangerous universe, with those 400 trillion solar systems (or 400 billion for Europeans). Now they have given us real figures of what the commanders have discovered… and of what still remains to be discovered.

Since the official launch of the game last December, no less than 615,475 systems that were not mapped have been explored. It may seem like a lot in a month, but since the game contains more than 400 billion, Frontier has made numbers: 17,585 systems have been discovered per day, 732 per hour or 12 per minute. Which means that in 1 month 0.00015% of the galaxy has been explored. In other words, if the current pace is maintained, it will take 150,895 years so that the commanders have explored the entire galaxy.

Aspiring explorers have very good material on the Erimus One YouTube channel, especially the videos called Distant Suns, of which we give you a small example.

It is obvious that Elite: Dangerous is by no means a game on rails, and today it is largely up to us to enjoy its many options, or get bored of always doing the same missions of transporting merchandise from one station to another. What can you tell us about your experience with Elite: Dangerous?
