Scorn started a Kickstarter campaign in November last year, but the project was canceled due to lack of support after a couple of weeks. Despite this, the project had a sensational appearance and this has allowed them to find external financing and, incidentally, give joy to the backers.
Supporting a Kickstarter project can always cause qualms: deadlines exceeded, functionalities not implemented, or even others that later turn out to be different from those that we were promised… and much more regarding virtual reality, with several cases of games that came to support the DK1 and were never heard from again, or even some that did not move a tab in terms of support for Oculus after the launch in early access. In the end it seems that many prefer to opt for “let them release the game, and they will already get my money once they finish it and have the support for DK2 implemented”. And this is not a criticizable attitude by any means, everyone is free to do with their money what they please, and it is clear that some bad experiences can chasten more than one.
However, giving our support to these projects can also have its reward, as is the case with Scorn. Despite the cancellation of the campaign and who have not taken a penny of the backers, their authors have chosen to reward those who believed in them, so that everyone will get absolutely free the game according to the perk chosen in the campaign, including physical objects as a book art print or a limited edition box. From here we want to congratulate Ebb software for its decision and we hope that Scorn will come to fruition as soon as possible, because when a product exudes so much quality and reflects so much effort, it is normal for someone to notice them.
