As expected, Oculus is showing Crescent Bay at CES in Las Vegas, and it seems that the next big goal is 3D audio for both the Rift and Gear VR. We don’t know if it will be an independent SDK or if it will be included in the current one, but in any case it seems important to us to offer this solution to developers.

The Crescent Bay demos that Oculus showed at the Connect last September have been updated to support 3D audio. The RealSpace3D technology licensed by Oculus uses HRTF algorithms that, together with the Rift’s motion sensor, allows us to obtain an amazing spatial fidelity, the most realistic we have been able to test to date. Anyone who has a DK1 or DK2 and a pair of headphones can try the special version of Tuscan with this audio technology to try it for themselves.

The new audio SDK is coming soon according to Oculus, and will allow developers to integrate RealSpace3D technology into their projects in a simple way, both on PC and Android.
