If anyone doubted that virtual reality was going to be one of the trending topics at CES, it’s clear that they were wrong. A classic in the world of PC gaming, none other than Razer, is preparing an HMD that will be on sale this summer and will work under the open source OSVR standard.

The device will cost $ 199 and for this Razer has enlisted the help of Sensics, a company that has been designing HMDs for the professional world for years. The screen will have a resolution of 1920×1080 and will work at 60 Hz, with an FOV of 100º and aspherical lenses that will produce minimal distortion, with which there will be no need to perform distortion correction or chromatic aberration. In principle, this device will not have absolute positioning, although given its open source nature, we will be able to use external systems to achieve it. The SDK (called HDK) will allow supporting all kinds of accessories, and companies such as Sixense and Leap Motion are actively participating in the development, in addition to Gearbox that has also left its logo on the web.

At the moment it is all the information we have, you can read more data on the OSVR website.
