There are times when a device is used by a large number of people, assuming for them a possible risk of infections that this accessory on Kickstarter aims to eradicate.
Milos Paripovic it has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund an accessory that is capable of eliminating all possible bacteria, viruses and fungi that a virtual reality headset can accumulate on its pad. VR Sanitizer it is intended to be used in events in which multiple people use the same HMD, thus reducing the risk of contagion of possible infections. The accessory uses ultraviolet light with a wavelength of 254 nanometers, which allows it to act as a germicide affecting the molecular structure of microorganisms, sterilizing them and preventing their reproduction, also incorporating a fan to remove moisture, loose microparticles and dry the face pad to prevent the growth of bacteria and mold.
After using the visor, simply place it on top of VR Sanitizer, and it will disinfect the pad in a matter of seconds. Once it is finished, VR Sanitizer will turn off and it will not be necessary to remove the viewer since we can leave it as a support. The author of the campaign emphasizes that the nose and eyes are very sensitive areas to infections, and therefore the importance of using ultraviolet light. The visor pad will not be damaged, as it is only used for a few seconds and is not applied to any other part of the visor.
VR Sanitizer costs $ 70 for the first units and $ 85 for the rest, and we will have to choose the one that is compatible with our device, Rift or Vive, or buy both in case we need for both. The estimated delivery date is July and the campaign goal is $40,000.
