The French company Archos, known for devices such as multimedia players, tablets and very inexpensive smartphones, has also decided to make the leap to virtual reality and manufacture a smartphone case that, in line with the rest of its products, would have a very reasonable price, around € 30. It is expected to be available between November and December.
The device, which does not yet have a name, will be extremely light as it is built of ABS plastic, and will be able to accommodate smartphones between 4 and 6 inches, maybe even 7 minitablets. It does not have focal length settings and it is difficult to use it with glasses, but the experience it provides is reasonably good for the price. We can use any smartphone application that is compatible with the 3D side-by-side mode and uses the mobile sensors for tracking.
