On June 2, the ARK Survival Evolved game arrives in early access on Steam, a multiplatform title created on Unreal Engine 4, compatible with Oculus Rift and Morpheus, which presents us with an open world full of dinosaurs.
From the first day of early access, we will be able to play ARK Survival Evolved on Oculus Rift, and it is to be hoped that it will become compatible with other virtual reality viewers such as HTC Vive, since it is made on Unreal Engine 4. The period of early access will run until early 2016, which will be when the game officially launches on PC (Windows, Mac, and Linux), Xbox One, and PS4 (the game will also be compatible with Morpheus, which should launch in the first six months of the year).
ARK Survival Evolved gives a new twist to the survival genre by merging it with a massive multiplayer that will foster cooperation and competition between the players, who will wake up with nothing on the beach of a mysterious island along with other equally confused humans. In ARK, they must hunt, harvest, craft and research technologies, as well as build shelters to protect themselves from scorching hot days, freezing nights, wildlife and potential enemies. We will have to use our cunning to survive the dinosaurs and other creatures that inhabit the dynamic and permanent ecosystem of the island by land, sea (also underwater) and air. We will have to improve our character and obtain objects and skills through an advanced role-playing system. We will be able to create a tribe with hundreds of players in order to survive and dominate enemy tribes and ultimately discover the true purpose of ARK.
