Düsseldorf The Spanish company Cellnex is no longer bidding for a stake in the radio tower subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom. Cellnex is “no longer part of the process of a possible takeover of a share in the telecom company that operates the telecom infrastructure in Germany and Austria,” Cellnex announced on Wednesday – confirming corresponding reports.

According to insiders, a consortium led by the US financial investor KKR has also reached out to the Telekom subsidiary. Deutsche Funkturm GmbH (DFMG) now has almost 41,000 locations and last year increased its comparable sales by around five percent to 1.1 billion euros and the operating result (Ebitda AL) by 6.3 percent to 600 million euros.
