Immerse yourself in the life and work of Cervantes with this new application that will be presented this Sunday, April 23 at the Casa Natal Museum in Madrid.
RTVE presents Cervantes VR, an educational virtual reality application, developed by Iralta VR. The experience is a first-person journey through the life and work of Miguel de Cervantes, who has a biography that contains almost as many gaps as certainties. We will live moments such as the Battle of Lepanto against the Turks until his five-year captivity in Algiers, and the comedy pens where he nurtured his passion for theater. Cervantes VR narrates his story in verse and invites you to get closer to real scenarios such as Campo de Criptana or the birthplace of Alcalaíno Cervantes.
Iralta VR in collaboration with the RTVE Lab, has created this virtual reality application whose objective is to help the public to understand the author and his work, as well as situate the reader in his time. Both Miguel de Cervantes himself, as well as Don Quixote and Sancho interact directly with the user in the 8 scenes that make up the interactive experience that allows us to decide what to see, how and when.
Throughout the journey through his life, stories and characters are interspersed with landscapes and cultural heritage in real images recorded in 360º stereoscopic video, as well as illustrations and animations. On the occasion of the Book Day, this Sunday, April 23 in the Cervantes Birthplace Museum of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), will be held the submission and visitors to the Museum will be able to try the application from 11 in the morning.
Cervantes VR is available for Cardboard on iOS and Android, and it will also be coming soon to Gear VR.
