Change the drive letter of your hard drives in Windows 7
Here’s a guide on how to change drive letter on one’s hard drives in Windows 7. Often you find that Windows itself change the drive letter, even if you have connected the device before. If you often experience this, it may be because you may. have a USB hard drive set to your computer. So, the error can occur if you f.ex. also have connected a card reader or you have create a virtual drive on your computer. It is always a good idea to choose a drive letter that is put down in the row, f.ex. O / P / K, etc. How to make sure that USB keys, card readers, etc. get the available letters like F / G / H etc. in the future.
1. Click ” Start“then right-click “Computer“and choose “Manage”.
2. Now starts “Computer management“, here you need to click “Disk Management“on the left. Now you can see your hard drives installed in your computer. I want to change my hard drive which has the drive letter f: to p f.ex. This is done by right-clicking f: and selecting “Change drive letter and path”.
3. Now comes the image below, here you need to press “Edit”.
4. Now you need to change it to another letter, and everything should be ok again.
