Cloud services provider plusserver is expanding its product range with a cloud-native platform for container security. This is made possible by a cooperation with NeuVector.

The Cologne – based company” plusserver ” wants to offer its customers better cloud services from a single source. For this reason, the company is expanding its product portfolio with the platform for Container-security “NeuVector”. The cloud and Kubernetes native platform is designed to protect container infrastructures and applications based on them at all stages of deployment: from programming to productive operation.

Through the integration, plusserver wants to cover a range of services that “range from end-to-end protection for DevOps vulnerabilities to firewalls for containers to automated security in container execution.” Like other workloads, the cloud-native Kubernetes security platform is provided in the form of containers in the cluster to be protected

According to the manufacturer, NeuVector examines the containers across the entire CI/CD, i.e. continuous integration and delivery pipeline. A special Jenkins plug-in scans the containers during the build phase, monitors the images listed in the registries, and performs automated security compliance tests. NeuVector should also cover compliance and audit requirements for container projects.

Automated container detection ensures complete process monitoring: According to plusserver, NeuVector captures all hosted containers and maps all communication paths on a map. This should make it possible to detect and prevent attacks or suspicious behaviour. Thanks to an image vulnerability analysis, the delivery (deployment) of vulnerable container images can already be stopped via “Admission Control”.

True to the cloud-native approach, NeuVector works with all major Kubernetes-enabled cloud platforms. This also benefits plusserver, which, for example, offers its managed Kubernetes container orchestration in the SUSE rancher-based pluscloud, on the Google Cloud Platform and under AWS. More about the container security offer of plusserver on the website of the service provider.
