Corona Kombat — is a new game for PC VR available on Steam in which you will travel through the blood vessels, shooting at the virus. Although this concept may seem a bit stupid, the game was actually developed by a startup in healthcare, Reducept, with the help of a European grant as to the development of the game, as well as to conduct clinical research.
While it would be fun to bring your pandemic rage in the game, shooting the virus, Reducept hopes that Corona Kombat will be able to help people who are struggling with negative psychological consequences arising from the pandemic.
The basic idea is to release any negative emotions to something, doing something representative of a physical action, even if it seems stupid. In this case, traveling through the blood stream and shooting at COVID-19, Reducept seeks to help people to get rid of the anger or frustrations that they may experience for a pandemic, with the help of funny games.
Does the game actually in this respect — is quite another matter, and probably will depend on who is playing. There are two modes: a relaxing mode of “resistance” and a more challenging mode of “willpower”.
The game is now in the wish list on Steam (at time of writing), and it seems that at the moment it only supports headset Oculus Rift.
