We have GDC 2015 just around the corner, and it seems that Crytek, once the rumors about its bankruptcy have been dispelled, is going to present a virtual reality demo at said event. We hope that support for Oculus on CryEngine will not be delayed much longer.
Undoubtedly, the Star Citizen backers are impatient to see the game updated to the DK2, and in large part that is in the hands of Crytek. In addition to the virtual reality experience, Crytek is also going to present a version of CryEngine for Android and possibly for iOS (although this one would arrive later).
Crytek already presented last year privately a demo for DK2 that worked at 100 fps. This demo left those who tried it speechless, and the only thing that is known about this year’s is that it is a different demo, and it is not ruled out that it will be presented in Crescent Bay prototypes. We will get out of doubts in a couple of weeks, but given the resemblance of the CryEngine logo to that of Oculus, there is no doubt that they would have to be perfectly understood.
