Wiesbaden “The BKA never sends e-mails from accounts of private e-mail providers,” according to the Federal Criminal Police Office. The fake emails currently circulating in the name of the authority were probably an attempt to spy on the recipients’ data in order to commit further crimes. Therefore, in order to protect itself from fraud, the BKA advises to check the email address for the credibility of the sender and not to respond to emails from unknown senders. It is also better to leave it alone: to open files of unknown origin or links in e-mails from unknown senders.
