Sergio Hidalgo has just revealed that he is working on a version of Dreadhalls for Android that will work on the Samsung Gear VR. Although some features will be different, the base experience of Dreadhalls will be the same on PC and on Gear VR, with the same environments and the same game mechanics that have provided so many scares to the unwary pioneers of virtual reality since the arrival of the DK1.
According to Sergio, ensuring that the game works properly on a mobile device has been a very challenging task, and he has had to spend a lot of time making graphic optimizations, but the effort has been worth it. We leave you with some screenshots of the Gear VR version.
For newcomers to the world of virtual reality and the few who do not know Dreadhalls, we leave you with our video in which we explore the labyrinths of the old version in the DK1 a few months ago. The graphic quality of the new Dreadhalls is well above what is seen in this video, but it serves to give us an idea of the mechanics.
