SensoMotoric Instruments has created an accessory for Oculus Rift that allows us to follow the movement of our eyes. Obviously, it is not an official device nor supported by Oculus in the SDK. In fact, it includes its own software in C / C++ with which we can start working. It can be an interesting accessory for some developers who want to experiment with this technology.
Thanks to this system, we will be able to carry out interactions based on our gaze, enjoy a personalized calibration and perform a complete analysis of visual perception, among many other possibilities. According to SMI, its integration into engines such as Unity or WorldViz Vizard VR Engine is possible, and in order not to violate the Oculus terms of use, they only sell it to private users. At the moment they do not provide data such as the price and the installation process, so we will have to contact SMI if we are interested.
