Here you have a free antivirus program from Microsoft, the program is called Microsoft Security Essentials. I’ve been running with it for a while and am actually happy with it, running though with the paid edition of Malwarebytes next to it. In this way I ensure really good protection, both against viruses, spyware and malware. Everything I’ve read about. Microsoft Security Essentials is actually positive, so it also fits with my perception. The program is also very easy to handle, as well as it is in Danish. I have shown below how it is installed and used in practical. Don’t quite know if it replaces payment versions like Symantec, etc. but it covers my needs.
1. Enter DLC.dk ‘ s Microsoft Essential page and download the program, by clicking on the download link.
2. After downloading Microsoft Security Essentials and the installation starts, click “next”
3. Click “I accept”
4. If you want to help improve the user experience, check it. I have chosen not to, then press “Next”
5. Check the box “Enable Windows firewall“and press “Next”
6. Now you are ready to start the installation, press “Installer”.
7. Now Microsoft Security Essential will be installed on your computer.
8. Now it has finished installing, here you can choose whether you want to run a scan. I choose to wait, press “Execute”.
9. Now the program starts, here it starts automatically updating itself. It must be allowed to do so, so that you are properly protected.
10. Now it has finished updating and you are now in the tab “Home”. Here you can see the status, as well as choose to scan your computer. You can always see if Microsoft Security Essentials is up to date, you can see that it is green at the top of viduet – otherwise it is red.
11. I also choose to turn off automatic scanning of my computer as I want to control it myself. This is done by going in “Settings“in the tabs.
12. Now your new free antivirus from Microsoft is installed and you are protected. You can see the icon Down in your taskbar, it’s a green icon.
