Munich Semiconductor manufacturer Infineon wants to expand its manufacturing capacities significantly faster in the future than before. “In the future, we will decide on a major investment every two or three years,” Production Board MEMBER Rutger Wijburg tells Handelsblatt in his first interview since taking office.
In the past, the Dax Group had only built a new factory every four or five years. In view of the rapid growth, it is now necessary to increase the pace of investment. “It cannot be ruled out that we will also push ahead with large projects in parallel,” the manager explained. So far, the people of Munich have always been building one plant after another.
