Here at it Articles we take security on the computer very seriously. Therefore, in this article we have chosen to take a little look at how to get started with the spyware and malware program SpyHunter for Windows. The tool comes from the manufacturer Enigma, and it can be downloaded in a free demo version.
The article is divided into three different points on how to install the program, how to get started with a system scan and finally a little about the many settings. This is a setup wizard, i.e. not a real test.
1. Download and install
Although SpyHunter costs money, as mentioned, you can download a free demo, which is excellent for forming a first impression. At the time of writing, the latest version is SpyHunter 4, and it can be downloaded on our sister site DLC.dk by clicking here. Here you can also find a description and similar programs.
Of course, after downloading the installation file, you just place it on the desktop and double-click on it to get started. It does not take up much space, as SpyHunter only then downloads the necessary from the internet. The process should not take long.
2. Setup and scan
When the installation of SpyHunter is complete, the program asks if it can protect the settings in Internet Explorer. Depending on whether you use that browser, you can choose to click yes or no, but we haven’t tried the feature. After that, SpyHunter automatically downloads updates and starts a scan by itself.
After the program finishes scanning, you have the opportunity to study the results to assess their relevance. Unfortunately, of course, the demo does not allow these elements to be removed – therefore, it is also our opinion that the results should be taken with a grain of salt, as SpyHunter can easily regale with a long list.
3. Miscellaneous settings
In SpyHunter there are many settings to play with – these are of course also to be found in the side of the program. For example, we have noticed that it is possible to make different kinds of scans, both custom and planned. You can also get support directly in the program. Most of it requires, however, that you buy a license, and it costs about 275 kroner.
Although we are here with a guide, we have not tested the full version or used the program enough to make a review. The range of security programs is long and it can be difficult to find the right one, but if you have experience with SpyHunter, then feel free to drop a comment!
