If we were recently talking about enjoying the NBA in virtual reality, it’s time for hockey, the NHL in full splendor thanks to 360º cameras for viewing from Oculus Rift or Gear VR.
The initiative arises from the collaboration of Otoy, New Deal Studios and Immersive Media, the match in question: L.A. Kings and San Jose Sharks. American fans have been able to enjoy this sporting event thanks to Oculus Rift or Gear VR from their homes. Inside a 360º environment we can enjoy impossible angles to our liking. Viewers can change the point of view of the game, since each action is filmed from different positions. We can put ourselves in the shoes of the goalkeeper or between the players.
As says the CEO of Otoy, Jules Urbach: “virtual reality offers us a great opportunity to enjoy experiences that otherwise could not experience” “whether you’re a fan or not, or you live on the other side of the country, virtual reality allows you to be as close to the action as the players themselves”
Undoubtedly virtual reality is changing the world, news of this kind corroborates it, we hope that this type of initiatives will soon arrive in our country and we can enjoy these experiences from our sofas with mobile devices or HMDs.
