How Danish IT security is in 2019
Ad
Most Danes use the internet daily, and no matter if you buy a new Jacques Lemans watch or renew his prescription, it is done online today. It is almost impossible to imagine a Denmark without all the electronic devices we use every single day, and the society would not be able to hang together, if the internet suddenly stopped working. Therefore, there is no doubt that IT security is becoming more and more important for us Danes in this technological world.
Cybercrime is one of the biggest threats to us Danes, and every year the threat to Denmark grows. Therefore, Denmark and Europe have introduced a law that protects our sensitive information so that it is not abused by malicious hackers who can potentially steal our entire identity and all our money.
IT and data sharing legislation
In Denmark, we have established a state authority called The Danish Data Protection Agency, which has the task of ensuring that laws in the IT and data area are complied with by all companies and public bodies. In addition, the EU has passed a law called The Data Protection Regulation, which should strengthen the protection of personal data throughout Europe. This law ensures that our sensitive personal data is protected, and the law provides strict rules for how companies and public agencies treat our sensitive data. The law has stricter guidelines on how companies and organizations may collect, record and store our personal information, and in this way the law ensures that companies are not allowed to simply store, share, sell or use our information as they please, if we have not allowed them to do so. Both the supervision of the Danish Data Protection Agency and the rules of the General Data Protection Regulation ensure that we in Denmark can feel more secure when we are on the internet.
