The virtual reality content store Viveport will be the first to include a monthly payment plan for users with which they will have access to the applications that join the initiative.
Viveport’s monthly subscription will arrive at the beginning of the year, offering a new service designed to help users navigate through the growing market for virtual reality content, and a new channel for developers to monetize their work. HTC has commented that it will be a low fee to be paid every month and where we will be able to find those applications that the developers authorize to participate in the program. In this way, content creators will have the traditional way of selling and the possibility of also joining the service.
“We’re excited to let VR fans know that the same way to discover and use content through other popular subscription services – music, movies, TV and games – is coming to VR. A new opportunity for developers to reach wider audiences,” said Rikard Steiber, President of Viveport.
Those interested can sign up today to be the first to receive a free invitation to try the subscription service, once it launches.
