Composed of a rear anchor that would rotate and a cross top strap instead of transverse, it would offer a faster and more comfortable fit.
The convenience and ease of placing the viewfinder is a feature that experienced VR users don’t overlook. To achieve a sense of immersion and enjoy considerable play sessions, manufacturers face an unusual challenge, since few devices exist that rely on adjusting half a kilo of product to the upper area of the face.
HTC improved the soft tape grip of its Vive viewfinder with the Deluxe Audio Strap accessory, something that in Vive Pro came already integrated with a new system that distributes the weight better. On this occasion, they have registered a new mechanism reminiscent of Vive Focus or even the crown of the PSVR system (recognized as one of the most comfortable on the market), with a tape that would cross the sides on our crown and a back piece that would go down to fit easily.
Of course this system of 3 adjustable anchors does not seem very simple, but it is possible that it is more intuitive when changing the distribution and that it also allows to remove it and put it more quickly with the rear folding piece.
We do not know if this system will materialize in a new commercial product, something that could happen next year if HTC were the leading manufacturer recently referred to the eye tracking company Tobii.
