The HTC Vive wireless controllers are ready, and the development kits that Valve is about to ship will be free of the cumbersome cables in the handheld controllers.
It seems, as we read on UploadVR, that Valve could not use the wireless controllers in the HTC Vive demos during the last GDC due to a last-minute problem, since the devices were almost ready. Luckily, all the problems have been solved and the HTC Vive development kits will include wireless controllers, although logically the viewer will have a cable. The cables of the controllers were one of the main complaints of those who tested HTC Vive during the GDC and other events, but luckily, even developers will be able to count on wireless versions.
Valve stated that the first kits would be sent during the spring, in fact it seems that some have already received their development kit, so the Valve machinery is starting to accelerate to prepare the software that will accompany the landing of the commercial version at the end of the year, software of which some possible titles have already been leaked.
