A YouTuber has tried whether he can travel around the world alone with Bitcoin (BTC) as a means of payment and take care of himself.
As the Indian influencer Paco explains in the current issue of Cointelegraph’s “Crypto Stories”, he started his journey in the city of Bengaluru and was inspired by the American journalist Nellie Bly, who in the 19th century was one of the first women ever to make a world tour – in less than 73 days, mind you. Before his travel adventure, Paco had worked in various jobs before he got to know the market-leading cryptocurrency that is now turning his life upside down.
“It’s the year 2021, and I’m going to take a trip around the world only with Bitcoin,” as Paco proclaimed accordingly.
To this end, the influencer explains to Cointelegraph:
“At the beginning of my journey, I didn’t have a single dollar, I then sold my furniture for $ 200 in Bitcoin. At a Bitcoin meeting in Bengaluru, someone then charged me the $ 200 in Bitcoin. […] With this money I wanted to travel to 40 countries in 400 days.“
However, Paco’s travel plans were postponed by the corona crisis, especially when the Omikron variant arrived in India, the YouTuber had to reschedule. Nevertheless, at the time of the interview with Cointelegraph, he is in Africa and has already crossed eight different countries.
“I have the feeling that Africa needs Bitcoin more urgently than any other place in the world,” as Paco describes his impressions so far. He adds: “All African currencies are collapsing, all countries are collapsing. That’s a bad thing that’s happening. We need to get a grip on money so that we can get a grip on the world.“
