Düsseldorf On Thursday, Meta Threads will be launched on the market. The announcement of the new app could hardly have been more discreet: there was no press release, the parent company of Facebook announced threads only briefly and concisely in the app stores of Apple and Google.
But even the small hint made experts pay attention: the short message service could eventually become a serious danger for Twitter.
In the app stores, threads is described as “Instagram’s text-based conversation app”. The social network Instagram, on which users mainly share photos and videos, also belongs to Meta. With the focus on texts, Threads is now in direct competition with Twitter, the most successful short message service to date.
