Another case arrives on IndieGoGo that is looking for financing. The Moggles glasses are compatible with smartphones between 4 and 5.7″ and use the camera to offer absolute positioning. They are compatible with iOS and Android and intend to gain a foothold in this emerging market.
Moggles offers several advantages, including the possibility of being folded to occupy very little space, aspherical lenses allow you to focus comfortably the whole screen, the controller and the system of absolute positioning, using the smartphone’s camera, though, as it could not be otherwise, we will rely on the software to be ready for it.
The controller has an accelerometer and a 6-axis gyroscope, and although you see a cable in the image, it is to charge its battery, since the connection is made via Bluetooth. The good thing is that it emulates a keyboard and a mouse, so it will work directly with a large number of existing applications.
The FOV offered by Moggles with a large screen smartphone (the maximum is 5.7″) is 93º. To be able to enjoy it with total clarity, it includes distance and interpupillary adjustments and we can use it without glasses if our eyesight has a maximum of +- 2 diopters.
As for the price, for $ 79 we can get the case and for $ 129 with the pack that includes the controller. Moggles will be sent to the backers in September of this year if they achieve their goal of $60,000, since it is fixed financing. We have until March 19 to support her and get us a kit.
