We already have some more data on the virtual reality viewer that the microdisplay manufacturer eMagin is preparing, and it looks quite interesting, especially the design, very different from Oculus, HTC or Sony.
Six months ago, eMagin communicated that it was working on an HMD with a resolution of 2K per eye. At the moment they have nothing published on their website, but thanks to the collection of tweets made by Road to VR, we already know some details. On Thursday of last week, a tweet Dan Cui, vice president of business relations at eMagin, made the hare jump.

The data for this viewer would be as follows:
- 2Kx2K resolution in each eye
- FOV of 100º
- Design that allows you to lift the screens to see the real world
- Interpupillary distance and focus adjustment
- Control knob
Next month, eMagin will show the prototypes behind closed doors. The appearance is very interesting, since when using microdisplays the box that characterizes the HMDs that we are used to seeing today is not necessary, offering a much more stylized appearance by fitting like glasses without having to distribute the weight all over the head. We will be attentive to this new and interesting proposal.
