MTS reached the Far East| 18.09.2008
The company “Mobile TeleSystems” (MTS) announced the creation and the beginning of test operation of a cellular network of third generation (3G) in Vladivostok.
Recall that to date the operator has built and launched commercial operation of such networks in several cities of Russia. Therefore, the company marked its 3G presence in Central,
North-Western, Volga, southern, Ural and Siberian Federal districts. Now Vladivostok has become the first far Eastern city, where MTS has built a network 3G.
The operator expects to end this year to provide 3G coverage all of Vladivostok and then to proceed to commercial operation of the network. By this time the company is going to build
the third-generation network in Khabarovsk, Irkutsk, Ussuriysk and Nakhodka.
