PJSC “MTS” analyzed the smartphone market in the first half of 2020.

From January to June 2020, in Russia were sold 13.6 million gadgets in the amount of 223 billion roubles In real terms, the Russian market grew by 3% in cash — by 5.1%. The average cost of devices
increased by 2% to RUB 16426

The sale of gadgets has grown dramatically in June this year compared with the same period of 2019. This is due to several factors, among which are the opening of shopping malls, pent-up demand and
reduction of expenses of inhabitants of Russia on vacation. According to experts, this year 92% of Russians are planning a vacation within the region of residence. MTS Bank’s analysts noted that users spent
in June, 2.5 times less money on travel than the previous year. Savings on vacation the money the Russians were spending including the purchase of new gadgets.

The most difficult for the Russian market was the second quarter of 2020 From April to June, inclusive, it sold 2.9 percent fewer mobile devices than the same period last year. In cash
terms, demand fell by 2.3%. In April this year compared with the same month in 2019, smartphone sales fell by 21% in real terms in may — 4%. At the same time
June of the current year compared to the same period last year, sales of mobile devices in real terms have increased by 13%, as compared to April 2020 the number of purchased
devices almost doubled.

From April to June, the Russians often bought smartphones in the medium price segment. More than 80% of the purchased gadgets cost less than 20 thousand rubles., and the highest dynamics was shown by price category from 10
up to 15 thousand rubles sales in this segment increased by 14.4%.

Users making a choice in favor of available devices that you can buy for your own cash without savings and without additional financial instruments from
banks. From April to June the number of loans for a smartphone in Russia decreased by 40% compared to the same period last year.

First place in the Russian market by the number of gadgets sold in the second quarter of 2020 is a Honor with a share of 25.5%. In second place is Samsung from 22.2% in the third — Xiaomi 19.8%. Followed by Apple —
9.3% and Huawei on 8%. In monetary terms, lead Apple smartphones is 30.8%, Samsung — 24,7%, Honor — 18,1%, Xiaomi — 13.7% and Huawei at 6.1%.
