Los Angeles Netflix has selected Microsoft as a technology and distribution partner for its planned ad-supported subscription service. The software company was awarded the contract, among other things, because of its innovative ability and its data protection offer, Netflix said in a blog posting on Wednesday.
Microsoft, in turn, wrote that all advertising on the streaming service will run exclusively through its platform. After the announcements, Netflix’s share price rose by two percent over the course of the year. According to recent media reports, Netflix is getting closer to introducing an ad-supported subscription.
